LIQUID DAMAGE...OH NO!
Liquid damage is possibly the worst thing that could happen to a phone. You've dropped your cell phone in the sink, or even worse, the toilet! You forgot to check the pockets before running a load of laundry. You leaned over and the phone fell out of your pocket into a puddle. A buddy pushed you into a pool, or maybe you just jumped in and forgot you had you phone in your pocket. We've seen grape jelly and diesel fuel, mud and sticky soda pop. Many people insist they never got there phone wet. Believe it or not, condensation like on a rainy day, in a bathroom with the shower running, or talking on the phone in a hot tub can all cause liquid damage. All is very damaging, sometimes it's fatal.
As soon as a cell phone sustains any kind of liquid damage, corrosion starts to grow inside the phone.
Corrosion is that white stuff that grows on wet electrical components (like a car battery terminal). Sometimes you'll get your phone wet and it appears to work just fine, only to start acting up in a week, maybe a month. That's because corrosion continues to grow, messing with the operation of you phone.

What to do:
1) The first thing you want to do when you discover your phone has gotten wet is to remove the battery. Water and electricity don't mix,
so cut the power to your phone ASAP! If your phone is off, DON'T TURN IT ON to see if it still works! The shot of electric could short out your circuit board, and then your phone is "toast" as we say here at Mobile Madness!

2) If your phone uses a SIM card, remove it from the phone, pat it dry and place it in an envelope somewhere safe. Hopefully your phone has been set to save all your info to the SIM card, and this is more valuable to most people that the phone itself.

3) Call Mobile Madness Immediately! The sooner our technicians can work on your phone, the less damage your phone is likely to suffer.

4) If you can't make it to Mobile Madness right away, place your phone in a sunny window or the dash of your car to allow the phone to dry.
A blow dryer on a low setting is good to use too, but there may still be water deep inside the phone. Depending on the extent of the water damage, your phone could take a day or two to completely dry out inside.

The technicians at Mobile Madness have a 50% success rate bringing liquid damage phones back to life. We completely disassemble the phone, dry it, clean all the contact points, remove all corrosion, put the battery back in and cross our fingers! There are NO GUARANTEES with liquid damage repairs. Our technicians put the same amount of time into successful cleanings as we do unsuccessful ones, so we charge $25 for the cleaning whether the problem is fixed or not.
